Twickenham, sometimes known as the “Cabbage Patch” because that is what it was used for before, is the home of the English Rugby Union team.
Today the stadium has a capacity of 82,000 spectators and is the largest dedicated rugby union venue in the world, but when England played Wales on 15^th January 1909 maximum capacity was 20,000 spectators.
The first match was on 2^nd October 1909 when Harlequins played Richmond.
